JOHANNESBURG – Police Minister Senzo Mchunu will release the crime stats for the first half of the year.
It comes hot on the heels of the Victims of Crime report from Stats SA.
That report showed violent crimes are on the increase with thousands not being reported.

It found that less than half of housebreaking victims report the crime to police.
The report is based on surveys conducted on victims of crime, while the national crime statistics are based on incidents reported to police stations and crimes discovered by the police.
